Default D cores + glacial

Hello peeps this question is for all those ppl who farm glacial stones and destroyer cores.

I recently taught a guildie of mine how to farm destroyer cores. Unfortunetaly me being a ele and him being a war i could not exactly show him what to do.

However eventually he managed to get the hang of it in Nm. After just 2 runs however he told me from just 2 runs he got 20 destroyer cores. He then showed me to prove it was not a lie.

I farm d cores in HM and per run i only really get about 3-5 cores. however i do get about 3 golds lock picks and many dye drops (white and black included) So i was wondering perhaps it is better to farm cores in NM.
The reason why i think this is quite simply d cores is not a very common drop in HM but a high drop in NM like most collector items seem to be.

I noticed this again when i tested glacial stones and i got 11 drops before i had to rezone.
Again when i was serching for items for my mini black moa chick when i wanted bog scale fins i farmed them in HM and infact i vanquished a entire area and only got 2 drops. I then went to repeat this the next day but forgot to change it to HM and i got all the drops i needed within the first to mobs.

I just want to see if anyone else has experienced this Plz post a reply if u have

It's just luck, really. I've gotten 12 glacial stones in a single HM vaettir run, and others I've gotten none.

He was just lucky. i've done it in NM and i got 2-3 cores per run, dyes, crap weapons (since the destroyers have a lower lvl). I think its just luck

D Cores aren't effected by NM or HM, same with shards and ecto. Just do it in NM unless you want better drops

I havn't seen this come up. Technically, they should drop more in Hard Mode as loot scaling is decreased for solo'ing.

Shards and ectos are rare materials, thus not affected by loot scaling. Destroyer Cores are not rare materials, thus, to my knowledge, are affected.

Mostly luck I imagine, just keep at it and you'll hit a big couple runs with lots of cores. Either way, getting Lockpicks and Tomes etc, will mean you can use the gold from those to buy some cores

You have a higher change to get purple and gold drops in HM, also skill tomes and lockpicks only drop in HM which all take away the chance of getting a collector's drop (Destroyer Core). So indirectly you have a better chance at getting collector's drops in NM since there are simply less items you can get and a lower chance of getting a purple or gold item.

Glint's Challenge is in EotN, therefore lockpicks drop in NM just like all EotN areas.

I D-Core farm too, and theres really no difference in the cores. You can only benefit from it. PLUS you solo and him, being a war, has to duo the farm, liek I do. Its not possible for him to get more then you simply because his hero slows him down. On top of that its almost impossible to get more then 3-5. I think your friend is pulling your leg, he probably bought the cores, as you definately HAVE to have more cores per run just by the fact you solo.

Besides most of it is random luck, but still 20 cores in 2 runs is not possible unless you were REALLY lucky (think about it the drop rate is probably 5-10%, only 50 at most destroyers are there in two runs) Besides that, he duos cutting the possibilities.

Anyways either he was lucky VERY VERY lucky, or he cheated and lied (most probable)
